Whilst bigger towns tend to benefit from huge range of summer camps, our little local area doesn’t have the same resources. This can cause a big holiday childcare dilemma and with the summer holidays now upon us, we decided to help you!

We did the detective work and found a variety of local options which you can use to help keep the kids busy and you sorted with temporary childcare all summer long.

We have some traditional paid childcare options and a range of summer camps to give variety of options to hopefully meet your family’s summer needs.

Pre-School Summer Childcare Options in Angus

These two local nurseries are open throughout summer, and provide childcare by trained staff.

Rompers Montrose

This private Nursery only closes for two weeks over the festive Christmas and New Year period, so is a good option for childcare over the summer holidays. Founded in 1987, this longstanding nursery takes little ones up to pre-school age.

Bizzy Bee’s Arbroath

Bizzy Bee’s Creche is open throughout the school holidays, offering childcare for children aged 6 months to 4 years old. Their fully qualified staff offer a safe and nurturing environment for your little ones all summer long. Open Monday to Friday, 9.30 until 1.45pm, spaces are still available if you haven’t fully figured out your childcare yet.

Primary School Aged, Summer Childcare in Montrose Angus

These summer clubs are here to help your ad-hoc childcare needs this summer.

The Moose Club

The afterschool club, which provides summer childcare to those children attending a Montrose Primary School. They also accept children the summer before they start school, so if your little one joins primary in August 2022, you can utilise this childcare option.

Sports Centre Clubs

Angus Alive offer a variety of classes, and set holiday clubs in their sports centres. The Montrose Sports Centre in particular, operates a club between the hours of 1pm and 3pm for children aged 3-12. This club runs throughout summer, starts in July and ends on August 11th.

Arbroath, and Brechin both offer morning holiday clubs between 9.30 and 11.30 am too.

Sports Clubs, Sports Sessions, and Group Activities during Angus Summer Holidays 

Signing your child up for a sport group or activity-based club this summer has multiple benefits; for both them and you! You can get some childcare relief, and they’ll get the opportunity to make friends and develop new skills and hobbies.

We compiled a list of some of the top clubs in the area that you can still sign your child up for today!

Brechin Buccaneers Cricket Club

Why not try your little one with a new hobby? The cricket summer club offers your child a chance to learn a new sport in a friendly exciting environment.

This Summer activity club runs from the 11th of July to the 15th, 10am-3.00pm. This weeklong cricket camp provides children aged 7-13 with a series of games and skill based activities to improve their confidence on the cricket field. Lunch is provided.

Summer Football Camp

Got a football star in the making? Or are you just hoping to teach your child teamwork and resilience in a fun entertaining manner? Either way, football camp sounds like it could be what you’re looking for!

These club run camps are guaranteed to keep your child active and engaged throughout the long school summer break.

Brechin Football Club

This summer football holiday camp runs for three weeks over the summer holidays for those aged between 5-11 years old. The camp runs between 9am and 12, every day.

Arbroath Football Club

Running from the 4th of July to 12th of August at Seaton Park, this camp welcomes all children aged 5-14. The classes run between 10am to 2pm, with free breakfast, snacks and packed lunches (when pre-booked) available, your football star will be completely catered for.

Drama Camp

Run by Dundee and Angus college, this weeklong programme runs from 18th of July to 22nd. Open to 8–11-year-olds, there are a multitude of options available so you can tailor the experience to suit your child. Head over to the Dundee and Angus College website to sign up today.

Jason Aston Black Belt Martial Arts Arbroath

Got a little one with bags of energy? This class teaches them focus, control, and co-ordination. Open for children aged 5-12 years old, this camp is running from Monday 6th of July for Three weeks. The class lasts between 10am and 3pm, so make sure to pack your little ninjas a packed lunch and plenty of water!
