Roo’s leap

We kick off our ice-cream pitstops with Roo’s leap famous Hot Fudge sundae. Available for sit in or take out, this delicious creation is sure to satisfy even the sweetest of tooth. The sundae comes in small and large, dripping in hot fudge sauce and topped with optional whipped cream, flake and brownie pieces. They also host a whole range of plain ice-creams and sorbets for those of you looking for a simpler option.

Oh Fudge

This dessert shop hosts more than just ice cream! Their selection includes waffles, cookie dough, crepes and other sweet desserts to make your mouth water. They do also offer the traditional banana split ice-cream and the all-important ice-cream sundae! Located in the centre of town this dessert shops offers takeout and delivery which means you don’t even need to venture out for your ice cream!

Tucked away in the corner of the high-street this small, sweet shop offers ice cream with big and exciting flavours such as Whisky and Shortbread and Apple crumble. Open 10-4.30, and offering vegan options, Rosie’s is the perfect afternoon stop for everyone!

Scoops of Moo

Open until 8.30pm during these hot summer months, Scoops of Moo is the perfect after dinner pitstop. Their tic-tok showcases the exciting new flavours, yummy waffle creations and delicious sundaes they have to offer. For those of you who love insta-worthy ice creams this is the place for you!

East Coast Burgers

If you’re looking to eat your ice-cream beach front, then East Coast Burgers might be for you. They offer four simple yet delicious flavours as well as desserts and milkshakes.

Picture House

This location lets you enjoy your ice cream, a pint and the football at the same time. The picture house is open for evening meals and has a surprisingly large range of ice-cream options. From Lemon Curd sorbet to Vegan Raspberry Coulis, their refreshing ice-creams make the perfect ending to a meal.

Diamond Lils

This location is the perfect stop out on the walk to the Scurdie Ness local lighthouse. Located on the Ferryden harbour, this little local pub serves tasty ice cream during summer for those who want to stop and admire the views of the harbour on a hot day!

Is it really a list of ice-cream shops if the famous Aunt Bettys in Stonehaven doesn’t get a mention?

Offering a delicious array of flavours, this popular store is positioned on the seafront, next to the equally exceptional Bay Chip Shop.

They stock gluten free cones and offer more than one vegan option, as well as stocking a variety of toppings and sauces. You can fully customise your ice-cream to suit you, your tastes, and any dietary need.

A further honorary mention goes to Visocchi’s in Broughty Ferry.

Their famous Italian artisan ice-cream.  Having been open for 68 years, this iconic location offers a range of delicious ice-creams as well as street and Italian food.
